CA New Syllabus 2018
ICAI has released a new notification about " CA New Syllabus 2018 " .
Candidates who registered on or after 1st July 2017, are permitted to attempt for this New revised CA Course.
CA-Foundation (under new scheme)
CA Foundation exam will be conducted twice a year in the months of May and November. The New syllabus will be applicable from May 2018 onwards. ICAI will give some fixed number of attempts to complete CA CPT in old syllabus for old students who were registered under the old scheme i.e. CA-CPT.
There are 4 papers in CA Foundation course from May 2018. ICAI introduced general English and Business and Commercial Knowledge subjects in new syllabus.
Note that the Paper 3 and Paper 4 will be Objective type papers & Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be subjective type papers.

Total Marks - 400
Paper 1: Principles and Practices of Accounting (100 Marks)
Paper 2: Business Law & Business Correspondence and Reporting (100 Marks)
Section A: Business Law (60 Marks)
Section B: Business Correspondence and Reporting (40 Marks)
Paper 3*: Business Mathematics and Logical Reasoning &Statistics (100 Marks)
Part I: Business Mathematics and Logical Reasoning (60 Marks)
Part II: Statistics (40 Marks)
Paper 4*: Business Economics & Business and Commercial Knowledge (100 Marks)
Part I: Business Economics (60 Marks)
Part II: Business and Commercial Knowledge (40 Marks)
*Paper 3 and Paper 4 will be Objective type papers
Note :
- Passing percentage: Aggregate- 50% and Subject-wise- 40% at one sitting.
- 4 Months registration required before appearing in the examinations, i.e. to appear in May attempt, cut-off date to be registered is 31st December & to appear in November attempt, cut-off date to be registered is 30th June.
- Objective type question of I or more marks.
- Examination: In the month of November and May after passing Class XII examinations.
- Last attempt under old CA-CPT course will be June 2019.
